Butterfly fly away
To a bright and better day
She will fulfill her dreams
And stitch all the seams
That were torn
And worn
From the pain
Of the rain
No one can stop her
She will no longer have to suffer
Because she's soaring to new heights
Each day and night
Not letting anyone tear her seams
Because she's living her dreams
For on the wings of a butterfly
There is no limit but the sky
So she will continue to soar
Forevermore
To a bright and better day

Dreams
At first, I had many dreams:
Of flying, of shining,
Of smiling and laughing.
I wanted to bring peace;
I wanted to bring love;
And make my voice heard.
But nobody listened,
Nobody cared.
Everyone laughed,
Threw me aside,
And buried any memory of me.
Now, I just want to be happy.

Blank Verse
I dare not meet those eyes -
Standing here, petrified
knee-deep in throbbing doubt
and gagged.
- black and flashing as battles at sea –
Bound up with many knotted cords
woven from my own indecision
squeezing like the fingers of winter.
- expectant and piercing my forehead in search of thoughts –
Broken hands and tendrils
in my chest, won't let me breathe
through the tidal flood of silence.
- roving through my hair and across chapped lips –
A bloodless heart, white as
angels, coward, craven worn, that once beat only
for those eyes.
- waiting for a word –
Creaking teeth ground as tight
as millstones over dr

Dreamer
She's a dreamer.
She lives in a world all her own.
Not because she's insane,
But because the outside world is cruel,
And she doesn't want to live in it.
In her own world of purple skies,
Nothing can harm her,
And that's the way she like's it.
Her world is her armor,
Take it away,
And you take away her life....
